Creation
-the world was created from a "waste of water" referred to as Nu
-sun god, god of brightness; @ dawn = Khepera, Ra @ high noon, and Tum at eventide
-Ra is equivalent to Zeus in Greek Mythology
-he created the the wind god (Shu), the rain goddess (Tefnut aka "The Spitter"); together, they were called "The Twins"
-The earth god = Seb; the goddess of the firmament = Nut

The Secret Name of Ra
-Isis created a plot so that Ra might tell her of his secret name that gave him divine power. She wanted to be as powerful as him and she made a serpent to bite him. The gods were unable to see serpents so when they were walking, the serpent was able to get close enough to bite. When it bit Ra, his body was overcome by venom and he finally told Isis his secret name to give her the power to heal him.

Ra and Hathor
-Ra began to age and people noticed. After hearing that people were speaking ill of him and wanted to kill him, Ra assembled all of the highest gods in secret.
-The god and goddesses assembled and advised that all of the rebels should be killed with a great flood.
-After a few nights, Ra repented and wished to save the rest of mankind. Hathor still was slaying men, but the messengers ran quicker than the storm. Ra gave the men protections against Hathor
-Ra needed strength from the others because he was too old to keep giving orders
